Taiqi Radio and Film Machine Museum

    For those born before the nineties of the last century, radio and movie machines are no stranger to the outside world, because they are two traditional media for us to know outside. But now, along with the emerging television, computer networks, mobile phones and other technology products, radio and film machines have been deserted, due to restrictions such as preservation and maintenance conditions, most have been dismantled as scrap and abandonment. As radio and movie enthusiasts, we have responsibility to preserve this history and to show it in kind.
    Thus, lasting nearly a decade, we have had collection of various radio and film production machines in different classes, ages and countries and its associated collections, over three thousand in total. On August 25, 2011, in the world-famous artist village, namely “Xiaopu Village, Songzhuang Town, Tongzhou District”, it started. And on December 7, 2011 the main building was successfully capped.
    The museum has six floors, five on the ground and one is basement. The Basement is storeroom and collections laboratory; the first floor is for the museum facilities (museum lobby, cafe, etc.); the second is for film projectors hall; and the third is for the Radio Hall; while the fourth and fifth is for office.
    The museum will through collection, protection, research, records, shows and publicity of radio and film machine culture to let the masses know and understand the role played by radio and film production machine in life and for social development; it shows for the masses and make them understand the principles of radio, as well as provide reference basis for the types and status in a variety of historical conditions and scientific and technological development; through careful presentation and perfect service incentives to inspire the masses to get interested in radio and film machine; provide a learning and communication platform for the majority of radio and movie enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the museum will host the bounden responsibility of science education, become rare science activities and practice base for the young people and produce far-reaching social benefits.
