Tongzhou has a dense road network in its territory, convenient rail transport, an important railway artery and significant air superiority. Tongzhou is closely connected with the outside world by Beijing-Tianjin Expressway, Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, Beijing-Haerbin Expressway, Tong Yan Expressway.  Batong Metro light rail,and Yizhuang line directly reaches to Tongzhou; M6 Metro cross Beijing  from east to west then extending to Tongzhou District, the first phase of the project has been in operation and the second phase is on the point of opening; the planning R1, S3, S5, S6, M6 branches and other lines will cover Tongzhou New City. Upon completion, the road network will be Beijing's most intensive one. In addition, there are three fast-track roads leading to the capital,they are Tongshun Road, Bifu Road, and Sixth Ring Road. The buses from the airport reach to Tongzhong New City directly.
