The infrastructure construction of the core area is a very large and complex systems engineering. In 2011, a cooperation agreement was signed with Beijing ENN Group Co. Ltd. taking BT model in construction, the project including 61 project like Dongguan Avenue, Underground ring tunnel, Underground public space, Municipal roads, etc., and other 57 projects with a total investment of about 18.9 billion.
Dongguan Avenue
The total investment is 978 million yuan. The avenue will cross Beiguan Avenue and Tonghuihe under the ground, with fast connection with the planned Tongzhou District Core areas northern and southern, the total length of the road is 1.99 km, and it will be two-way six-lane,and the designed speed is 50 km / hours. The project started in July 2011, the construction structure works have been completed,and will open to traffic by the end of 2013.
Northern ring tunnel project
It’s located in Business north area of the core aera. The total investment of Northern ring tunnel project is about 1.772 billion yuan. Main tunnel is 1.5 kilometers in length, and the passage of entry and exit is 1.2 kilometers long. The main tunnel is devided into three-layer , from top-down there are driving layer, integrated trench management mezzanine, composite pipe gallery layers in turn. 4 pairs of entry and exit of tunnel are set up connecting with the road on the ground, 22 entry and exits are connected to the underground garage around the block achieving the connection between the block and the block, as well as seamless transition between blocks and municipal roads. Currently, the North ring tunnel has been completed construction of the main structure, and officially enters the equipment installation phase.It is expected to formally delivered by the end of 2013.
Rail transport
Rail Transit is dense in the core area of Metro.The first phase of M6 east-west artery of Beijing subway line has been opened to traffic, the second phase of the project will extend to Tongzhou New City, impenetrating the core area of New City. Currently,the main body construction of four subway station in Tongzhou segment has completed,they are the Institute of Materials, Beiguan, , Xinhua Street, Yudai River Street. It is expected to open to traffic in 2015. Future Metro Express Line R1 line will also be extended to eastward from Beijing city center, passing the International Trade then arriving in Tongzhou, S6 line will connect Yizhuang and Shunyi with capital airport.
Moreover, the New City core area is also actively promoting the construction of municipal facilities, Sanhe cogeneration project has achieved heating, and new energy center, the monitoring center, vacuum waste disposal system and other key project are about to start.
